Rolling Chronicles

What is it? Rolling Chronicles is a two-volume book, born from a desire to share my feelings and emotions through photography and writing, drawing on the daily notes kept during a long-distance cycling journey. Starting from the Atlantic coast in France, my aim was to document and share my surroundings, a visual diary of a journey towards the eastern edge of Europe and beyond, focusing on the seemingly mundane elements of the cities, cultures and landscapes I came across. This photo diary is laid out country after country, tracing the slow crossing of an entire continent, and the subtle changes that come with it.

What's the story? A nagging feeling of going round in circles and above all, plenty of daydreaming, pushed me to leave, to see what's out there. A loosely sketched route heading east, a vague idea but a very real urge. These wanderings take me to the edge of Europe, across the plains of Anatolia, the deserts and mountains of Central Asia, through China towards Shanghai, and finally back via Mongolia and the Trans-Siberian. 18 months on the road, stopping often to take photos, losing myself in unfamiliar landscapes that builds a new geography, but also, and above all, finding beauty in the ordinary. Everyday moments shaped by unexpected encounters along the way.

From the edge of the Tibetan Plateau to the ring roads of Bangkok. Everything is worth taking in. A solo journey, but never truly alone. With thousands of photos and daily writings, the need to transcribe these 30,000km and share them becomes too strong to ignore. These two books bring together this writing and photography as the account of a personal journey. This isn't an attempt to define the world, simply my way of sharing the landscapes and cultures I encountered. Not more authentic or truer than any other, simply what I saw. Offering a feeling, an impression, rather than a definition. Through the villages, the roads and all the everyday spaces in between.

An initial print run of 80 copies of each volume, with the possibility of increasing the number of copies printed depending on pre-orders. Throughout production, backers will be kept informed of the project's progress and notified as soon as their books and prints are ready. As with any publishing project, unforeseen circumstances can sometimes affect production or shipping timelines. I will, of course, keep all backers informed throughout the process.

Why do I need your support ?  With your support, Rolling Chronicles can finally become a real book! This is not a call to donation but a crowdfunding campaign. By backing this self-published book project and this crowdfunding campaign, you're not just pre-ordering a book: you're directly contributing to bringing together more than eighteen months of photographic work and giving it its final physical form, by helping me to cover the costs of printing and production. If we reach this funding goal together, the funds will be released and the book will go to print in January 2027. Towards February 2027, everyone who backed the project with a reward will be able to pick up their books and prints or will receive them directly at home.

As this project is a true labor of love, and to keep the book as affordable as possible whilst keeping a good printing quality, no profits will be made. All the funds will be directly used in the printing process as well as covering the 8% Ulule fee.

If the goal isn't reached, no one will be charged and the project will not go ahead. This book is 18 months on the road, thousands of kilometres, and just as many encounters. Today, I need your help to bring it to life. A pledge, a pre-order, or simply sharing this with people around you, every bit helps, in its own way. Merci! ❤️
